Shock Sign Multiyear Lease at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena

Thursday September 4, 2014

SPOKANE, Wash. (September 3, 2014) – The Spokane Shock announced today that the organization and the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena have approved a multiyear lease agreement.

“I am absolutely delighted to announce that the Spokane Shock have entered into a three year lease agreement with the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena,” said Nader Naini, Chairman of Arena Football Partners. “Since acquiring the team in January, we have held steadfast to our commitment to keep this civic asset and its rich tradition in Spokane. This Agreement with the Spokane Public Facility District is consistent with our unwavering responsibility to our loyal fans and our supportive business partners to continue providing a fan friendly, first class sports entertainment experience.”

The 2015 season will mark the Shock’s 10th season as a franchise, having kicked off its inaugural season in 2006 as a member of the af2. After ArenaCup wins in 2006 and 2009, the team made the jump to the Arena Football League in 2010 where they won their first ArenaBowl Championship in their inaugural season.

“The Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena is proud to be the home field of the Spokane Shock,” said Arena General Manager Matt Gibson. “With this new agreement in place, we are proud to have the Shock as a valued tenant and the community can look forward to more exciting Arena Football action. Many thanks go out to all of the folks at the Spokane Shock office and their legions of incredible, dedicated fans.”

As the Shock enter their 10th season, the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena will be celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2015. Opening in September 1995 the Spokane Arena has played host as a multi-purpose arena to the Spokane Shock of the af2 and Arena Football League, the WHL’s Spokane Chiefs, NCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball, WIAA athletics, Professional Bull Riding, Figure Skating Championships, and many notable musical and theatrical performances.

Season tickets for the 2015 AFL season are currently on sale. In conjunction with the newly signed multiyear lease agreement with the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena the Shock are offering a three year price lock on season tickets purchased for the 2015 season, which will guarantee your season ticket pricing through the 2017 season. Season tickets start at just $99 and can be purchased by calling the Shock Ticket Office at 509-242-7462.
