2011 Defensive Player of the Year to join team
Scottsdale, Ariz. – The Arizona Rattlers announce cornerback Vic Hall will be joining the team for the 2014 season on a two-year deal.
Cornerback Vic Hall, 5 feet 9 inches and 184 pounds, played college football for the University of Virginia and was named team captain for the 2008 season where he tallied 59 tackles and 2 interceptions. Hall was also known for his ability to play many different positions on both offense and defense, dabbling as a punt and kick return specialist, wide receiver and quarterback. After college, he attended training camp with the Chicago Bears and New York Jets, before joining the AFL in 2011 with the Chicago Rush.
In Hall’s first year in the AFL he recorded 15 interceptions and two touchdowns despite missing the Rush's final four games of the year with an injury. As a result, Hall was named the AFL Defensive Player of the Year and is one of two rookies to ever achieve this honor. Through just nine games in 2012, Hall recorded 63.5 tackles, forcing two fumbles and seven broken-up passes.
"We are happy to add Vic Hall to our very talented defensive backfield,” said Head Coach Kevin Guy. “He is a versatile player that can play many different positions including kick returner. We feel he can help us compete for another Arena Bowl Championship. He is a player that has ball skills that fit with our philosophy."
