AFL Announces Partnership with LiveCrowds for ArenaBowl XXVI
Friday August 2, 2013
CHICAGO – The NET10 Wireless Arena Football League and LiveCrowds, Inc. have announced a partnership to bring fans a new social media experience before, during and after ArenaBowl XXVI, the League office announced today.
“LiveCrowds will allow our fans the ability to connect through social media during ArenaBowl week in groundbreaking new ways,” AFL Commissioner Jerry B. Kurz said. “Having a strong presence in both social and mobile media is an essential step in the continued growth of our League.”
With LiveCrowds, AFL fans will be able to connect, collaborate and engage online and via their mobile devices. The app allows fans to “follow” their favorite Arena Football teams and select which upcoming games they plan to attend. Immediately, fans will be able to see other friends who are also attending, enter a chat specific to the ArenaBowl and plan pregame meet-ups. During the game, AFL fans can post and share real-time photos and comments from the event, compete in real-time contests and support their team with the LiveCrowds SmartStrobe, a smartphone strobe of team colors.
Since LiveCrowds also connects live music fans, all the features will be available to AFL fans attending the special KISS concert in Orlando the night prior to the ArenaBowl. LiveCrowds then also allows users to keep a permanent online personal archive, including photos and videos, from the ArenaBowl and every game they attend.
“We are really excited about the partnership with the Arena Football League,” LiveCrowds CEO John Yearout said. “The passion of their amazingly loyal and engaged fanbase is the same passion for live events that led us to create LiveCrowds. We can’t wait to empower those fans with a suite of new experiences that will connect AFL fans with each other and the electric athletes that they all join together to support."
