Storm Hosts Fourth Annual LEON Family Festival Toy Drive

Thursday July 11, 2013

The Storm joins Metropolitan Ministries for Christmas In July event

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Storm has teamed up with Metropolitan Ministries to bring Christmas In July to the Tampa Bay Times Forum. The Storm will be hosting the fourth annual Metropolitan Ministries LEON Family Festival Toy Drive, July 20th from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Forum.

The LEON (noel spelled backwards) Family Festival is a time to celebrate and help collect toys for Metropolitan Ministries. Anyone who brings a new, unwrapped toy or a $10 donation will be able to join in the celebration and receive a ticket to the Tampa Bay Storm game later that evening.

The festival will have a giant snow slide, a meet and greet with Santa, food and activities complete with holiday music. It’s a Christmas in July event that provides toys and gifts for children that are in need. LEON highlights the need that Metropolitan Ministries faces during the summer months when donations begin to decline.

“Without our sponsors and the Tampa Bay community supporting us and this effort, so many deserving children would be without a present this holiday season,” said Metropolitan Ministries president Tim Marks. “We are thankful to 970 WFLA, Ferman, the Tampa Bay Storm, The Tampa Tribune and the Tampa Bay Times for stepping up to fill the need.”
