Jenkins, Brown and Goodman Earn Weekly Honors

Harvey and Gilliam also awarded for weekend’s highlights
CHICAGO – Chicago Rush WR JARED JENKINS has been awarded Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week, while Arizona Rattlers DB ARKEITH BROWN has been named the Riddell Defensive Player of the Week and Cleveland Gladiators WR DOMINICK GOODMAN has been named J. Lewis Small Playmaker of the Week for Week 12 of the 2013 NET10 Wireless Arena Football League season. In addition to these awards, the AFL is also awarding the Cutters Catch of the Week and AFL Highlight of the Week. Jacksonville Sharks WR JERON HARVEY earned the Cutters Catch of the Week, while Pittsburgh Power DB SERGIO GILLIAM was awarded the AFL Highlight of the Week.
RUSSELL ATHLETIC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jenkins (6-3, 230, Wisconsin-Stevens Point) recorded a career-high five touchdown receptions in Chicago’s 67-43 victory over the Utah Blaze in Week 12. It was his third consecutive game with at least one touchdown grab. Jenkins finished the night with nine receptions for 137 yards.
RIDDELL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Brown (6-1, 195, Texas A&M) tied his own single-game franchise record with three interceptions in the Rattlers’ 70-21 win against the San Antonio Talons in Week 12. The second-year pro also collected four tackles, one forced fumble and a pass breakup. He is tied for the League lead with eight interceptions on the year.
J. LEWIS SMALL PLAYMAKER OF THE WEEK
Goodman (6-1, 210, Cincinnati) set two new single-game franchise records in Cleveland’s 33-37 loss to the Iowa Barnstormers in Week 12. He broke his own single-game franchise mark for receptions by recording 18 last week, resulting in 131 yards and a touchdown. In addition, he collected 20 yards on a missed field goal return, besting the previous team-high of 15. The game also marked Goodman’s sixth consecutive game with a touchdown reception. He will receive a timepiece crafted by J. Lewis Small for his efforts.
CUTTERS CATCH OF THE WEEK
Harvey (6-4, 220, Houston) made a spectacular over-the-boards catch for a 23-yard touchdown in the third quarter of the Sharks’ 41-76 loss to the Spokane Shock in Week 12. It was his ninth consecutive game with at least one touchdown reception. He will receive a Cutters hat and shirt in recognition of the catch.
AFL HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK
Gilliam (6-2, 190, Clemson) intercepted a Mitch Mustain pass and returned it 46 yards for a touchdown to tie the game at 54 with 36 seconds to play in Pittsburgh’s 54-68 loss to San Jose in Week 12. The pick was Gilliam’s team-leading fourth interception of the season.
Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week candidates included: Arizona’s Rod Windsor, Cleveland’s Dominick Goodman, Orlando’s Prechae Rodriguez, Philadelphia’s Tiger Jones, Pittsburgh’s Mike Washington and Spokane’s Adron Tennell.
Riddell Defensive Player of the Week candidates included: Chicago’s Vic Hall, Iowa’s Mike Lewis, Orlando’s Marcus Everett, Philadelphia’s Brandon Perkins, San Jose’s Huey Whittaker and Spokane’s Terrance Sanders.
J. Lewis Small Playmaker of the Week candidates included: Arizona’s Jared Perry, New Orleans’ Donovan Morgan, San Jose’s Fred Williams, Spokane’s Ruschard Dodd-Masters, Tampa Bay’s Joe Hills and Utah’s David Hyland.
The Arena Football League is also awarding the AFL MVP of the Week, where fans are given the opportunity to select the winner. Candidates include Arizona DB ARKEITH BROWN, Chicago WR JARED JENKINS and Orlando WR PRECHAE RODRIGUEZ. Fans will have 24 hours to vote on ArenaFootball.com beginning at 1 p.m. ET on Wednesday, June 12. The winner will be announced on Thursday, June 13.
