Team, station ink four-year broadcast partnership

JACKSONVILLE - The 2012 South Division Champion Jacksonville Sharks and Chesapeake Portsmouth Broadcasting have reached a four-year broadcast agreement, the team announced Wednesday. Beginning with the 2013 season, radio broadcasts of Sharks games will air on WBOB AM 600.

“We are excited to broadcast all Sharks games on WBOB, a local station with outstanding reach within our community.” Sharks Managing Partner Jeff Bouchy said. “This multi-year partnership will provide our fans throughout the country with another outstanding way to experience Sharks football.”

"We are happy to have the Sharks on board," said Henry Hoot, Regional Vice President of Chesapeake Portsmouth. "They are the most successful football franchise in Jacksonville history and we're pleased to be partnered with them."

Each Sharks game – both at home on Sea Best Field and on the road – will air live on WBOB AM 600, 100.3 Orange Park and 100.7 Downtown. All Sharks fans, including those outside the Jacksonville area, may also listen to a live stream of each broadcast online at www.wbobradio.com.

Steve Berrey is set to handle radio play-by-play duties for Sharks broadcasts in 2013. Berrey previously served as the play-by-play commentator for webcasts of Sharks home games during the 2012 season, and is also the President/CEO of Youth Sports Marketing, a Jacksonville-based full-service marketing agency that focuses on youth and high school sports and broadcasts. He is a 30-year veteran broadcaster and will serve as director of radio sales for the Sharks.

Sharks Public Address Announcer Joshua Jackson and Sharks Director of Media Relations Zander Kean will join Berrey during broadcasts of road games. Jackson and Kean will each appear on a selection of game broadcasts.
