Recently Assigned Rattler Signs with the Chicago Bears
Mesa, AZ - The Arizona Rattlers announced today that offensive lineman Derek Dennis has been placed on Other League Exempt after he signed a deal with the NFL's Chicago Bears for a practice squad spot.
Dennis, who was assigned to the Rattlers earlier this month, is just the latest in a long line of Rattlers to elevate to the NFL.
"I just want to thank the Rattlers organization and staff for allowing me an opportunity to continue my football career," said Dennis. "I will always be a Rattlers fan!"
This is not Dennis' first stint with the NFL. After signing as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins in 2012 and being released prior to training camp, Dennis was picked up by the New England Patriots challenging for a roster spot and making it to the final round of cuts.
He played at Temple University where in 2011 he was one of nine to start in all 13 games. In 2012, Dennis was honored with an invite to play in the 2012 East-West Shrine Game.
