Four More Assigned to the Rattlers

 Kemp, Rogers, Allen and Blanc assigned for 2013

Mesa, Ariz. - Wide receiver, Wes Kemp, cornerback, James Rogers, offensive lineman, Davon Allen, and defensive lineman Mike Blanc have been assigned to the Arizona Rattlers for the 2013 season. Kemp, Allen, and Blanc are rookies receiving one year assignments while Rogers' is a two year assignment.

Kemp is a 6'4", 220 pound wide receiver out of St Louis, Missouri. Originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the Carolina Panthers in April of 2012, Kemp was most recently in training camp with the New York Jets before being released in August.

A product of the University of Missouri, Kemp finished with 63 receptions, 853 yards and six touchdowns in 33 games for the Tigers. Ranked the No. 3 overall player at any position in the state of Missouri out of high school, Kemp was a three time All-State selection.

Rogers, a cornerback out of Madison Heights, Michigan, stands 6'1" and weighs in at 190 pounds. He played in six games with the Kansas City Command last season recording 10 tackles and four assists.

During his career at the University of Michigan, Rogers played in 46 games, playing both cornerback and wide receiver. Rogers had 40 stops, two tackles for loss, three interceptions and three pass breakups during his senior season in 2010.

Allen, who stands 6'2" and 325 pounds from Humble, Texas, comes out of Rice University. He played in 48 games for the Owls and earned honorable mention All-C-USA his sophomore season. A multi-sport athlete in high school, Allen was a First-Team All District honoree and was selected to play in the 2007 Bayou Bowl.

Blanc, a 6'4", 300 pound defensive lineman from Pompano Beach, Florida, was originally signed by the San Diego Chargers in 2011 before signing a reserve contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers in January of this year and was released in August.

Blanc had 26 tackles and two and a half sacks in 14 games for the 2009 BCS Championship Auburn Tigers, recording a safety in the National Championship game.
