Fred Shaw Returns to the San Antonio Talons

 SAN ANTONIO (October 24, 2012) – San Antonio Talons announced today that the team has been assigned defensive back Fred Shaw.

Shaw (6-2, 220, Central Oklahoma) tallied a single-season franchise-record 120 tackles to go along with a team-high eight interceptions for the San Antonio Talons in the 2012 season.

The statistical leader of the San Antonio defense, Shaw also set a single-game franchise record with 16 tackles against the Pittsburgh Power and recorded two multiple interception games.

“Fred Shaw is a tremendous competitor and an incredible athlete,” said Talons’ CEO Beau Raich. “He can really shut an opposing offense down, and we are excited to have him as part of our defense again in the 2013 season.”

The San Antonio Talons are entering into their second season in the Arena Football League (AFL). The team was moved to San Antonio from Tulsa, OK in 2012 and won the AFL’s Central Division title, as well as hosted their first AFL playoff game in the 2012 season.
