New Orleans VooDoo Inks Two-Year Extension with Head Coach Pat O’Hara
Thursday October 11, 2012
NEW ORLEANS (October 11, 2012) – The New Orleans VooDoo signed Head Coach Pat O’Hara to a two-year contract extension, announced the front office on Thursday afternoon.
“Coach O’Hara did a great job last year and turned the VooDoo into a contending team. This was an easy decision for our organization to make,” said Dan Newman, VooDoo co-owner.
In just one season at the helm, O’Hara guided the VooDoo to just the franchise’s second playoff berth in its history. Counting team and individual records, O’Hara set over 40 new franchise benchmarks.
In 2012, O’Hara took the VooDoo from a league-worst 3-15 record in 2011 to the 2012 playoffs. O’Hara -- who came to New Orleans from the Orlando Predators in 2011 after guiding the team to back-to-back postseason appearances -- has been to the AFL playoffs for three consecutive seasons.
“I love New Orleans and the fans,” said O’Hara. “I am very glad that I am able to continue representing the city as the head coach of the New Orleans VooDoo. Last season we made strides, but I am ready to take this franchise to the next level.”
