Players Call for Whiteout

Move over UGA. The South Georgia Wildcats want a “whiteout” for Saturday’s game against the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgs.
Georgia Bulldog fans are famous for the “blackout” of the Georgia-Auburn game. In other words, every fan in attendance wore black shirts and tops. Consequently the stands at Sanford Stadium were completely awash in black.
Well South Georgia’s players quarterback Andreco Hines and wide receiver Buchie Ibeh have requested that the Wildcats’ fans do the same thing except by wearing white.
“That would be a beautiful thing. South Georgia, if we can get your participation. Get a piece of white Wildcat paraphernalia, or apparel, or something,” said Ibeh. “Put it on, come in here, and white it out.”
Head coach Derek Stingley said that that was news to him, all he wants to see is a rocking James H. Gray Civic Center.
“That's news to me,” says Stingley. “If that's what they want to call it, I'd just love for the fans to sell out, if possible. That fan support is huge.”
The trouble is, there’s not much time to get the word out. Traditionally South Georgia fans wear blue to games and, if they don’t have white Wildcat garb, will they be able to find it? So time is of the essence.
“We're trying to go out with a bang. I urge South Georgia, come out, get a ticket,” said Ibeh. “You don't want to miss this one.”
So there you go. I’m doing my part. What about you?
Are you gonna wear white to the game Saturday? Do you have something white to wear to the game? And do you see the whole movement as a distraction to what is obviously a huge game for the Cats?
