ArenaFan-Tasy Football Report: Week 7

After seven weeks of Arena Football League action and six weeks of fantasy play, here is a look at some highlights from last week and the season.

Top 3 scorers by position for Week 7:
Quarterback – Joe Germaine (Utah) 61, Brett Dietz (Tampa Bay) 59, John Dutton (Colorado) 57

Wide Receiver – Will Pettis (Dallas) 42, J.J. McKelvey (Utah) 38, T.T. Toliver (Orlando) 35

Fullback – Torrence Marshall (Tampa Bay) 15, Marlion Jackson (Cleveland) 14, Marlon Moye-Moore (Orlando) 12

Kicker – Clay Rush (Colorado) 15, David Davis (Los Angeles) 13, Jason Ball (Cleveland) 12

Surprise of the week:
J.J. McKelvey has to be the surprise of the week.  McKelvey finished with 11 catches for 171 yards and five touchdowns in a loss to Los Angeles.  Joe Germaine and the Utah offense put up nice fantasy numbers and he needs somebody to catch the ball.

Start him – Sit him for Week 8:
Start him – James Roe (San Jose).  Roe came off a nagging injury last week to put up solid numbers (8 catches, 84 yards, and three touchdowns) against a tough Philadelphia defense.  Look for his numbers to continue to rise as his health improves and faces a poor Utah Blaze defense.

Sit him – Tony Graziani (Philadelphia).  Graziani was supposed to return to action last week against San Jose, but was sidelined as a game time decision.  The Soul will want their quarterback to see game action before the big showdown with Dallas, so he will most likely get the start this week.  Last season, Graziani came off an injury and completed 7 of 15 passes in his return to the lineup.

Sleeper of the week:

Cleannord Saintil (San Jose).  Saintil has had some big games this season 18 catches, 218 yards against Dallas and 10 catches, 129 yards versus Chicago.  This week he will face the Utah Blaze who will try to shut down James Roe, which should leave plenty of chances for Saintil to shine.

AFL Bye for Week 8:
When setting your lineup this week, remember that the Dallas Desperados will not be playing.

Blowout of the week:
Our blowout this week comes from the Perry Moss League.  The New York Knights (soupnazis) thrashed the Cincinnati Rockers (nstorer) by a score of 162-51.

Undefeated:
Three fantasy teams remain perfect through the first six games of the season.

Durwood Roquemore League – Augusta Stallions (f-f-nut)
Jay Gruden League – Buffalo Destroyers (Peter6)
Perry Moss League – New York Knights (soupnazis)

If you have any questions about your fantasy team, feel free to email.  Good luck to everyone.
