San Jose and Philadelphia each won to remain undefeated and hold down the top two spots in this week’s ArenaFan Power Ranking with Arizona, Orlando, and Cleveland rounding out the top five.

Week 3 Power Ranking

1. San Jose SaberCats (3-0) (LW: W @ TB 36-27) – San Jose benefited from four Tampa Bay turnovers in a less-than-impressive nine-point win that saw the SaberCats score just 36 points. San Jose failed to break the 200-yard mark in total yardage yet led going into the final quarter by 22 points, 29-7, on the way to the victory. San Jose will travel to Jacksonville on Friday night.

2. Philadelphia Soul (3-0) (LW: W vs. JAX 63-52) – After an even first quarter of play, Philadelphia outscored Jacksonville 42-20 over the next two quarters on the way to their third straight win. Both Soul QB Dan Raudabaugh and Sharks QB Tommy Grady threw for eight TDs in the game. Philadelphia will be home in Week 4 against Cleveland.

3. Arizona Rattlers (2-1) (LW: W @ CLV 49-41) – Arizona bounced back from a loss to Las Vegas in Week 2 by defeating Cleveland on the strength of a 352-yard passing game by Nick Davila that included seven touchdowns with just one interception. It was a big road win and puts the Rattlers in position to win back-to-back games with Portland paying a visit this week.

4. Orlando Predators (2-1) (LW: W @ NO 47-42) – Orlando had to battle a competitive New Orleans team, but they left the Big Easy with their second straight win following an opening day loss to Philly. The Predators will be looking to add another W when winless Los Angeles comes to town for a Week 4 contest.

5. Cleveland Gladiators (2-1) (LW: L vs. AZ 49-41) – Cleveland stayed close but lost the turnover battle, as well as the game, against Arizona. Shane Austin threw four TD passes but was picked off three times in the Glads first loss of the young season. Cleveland will be on the road against Philadelphia this week.

6. Jacksonville Sharks (0-3) (LW: L @ PHL 63-52) – Jacksonville lost on the road against Philadelphia to drop to 0-3 and will have to beat top ranked San Jose this Friday to avoid an 0-4 start to the season. What looked like the most improved team in the league a month ago now seems to be on the verge of a lost season. Jacksonville will be home against San Jose, a team prime for an upset based on their Week 3 performance.

7. Las Vegas Outlaws (2-1) (LW: W @ LA 61-48) – Las Vegas followed up their stunning upset of Arizona last week with a 13-point win over a struggling Los Angeles squad. JJ Raterink threw nine touchdown passes spread between five receivers with Jomo Wilson pulling in four of them. Las Vegas is on a bye week.

8. Portland Thunder (2-1) (LW: W vs. SPO 47-43) – Portland rallied from a 29-20 halftime deficit to beat Spokane by four points and improve to 2-1 on the season. Portland will play Arizona on the road in Saturday’s late game.

9. Spokane Shock (0-3) (LW: L @ PO 47-43) – Spokane continues to struggle putting points on the board as well as protecting the ball, as their 10 turnovers in the first three games reflects. Spokane is on a bye week.

10. New Orleans VooDoo (1-2) (LW: L vs. ORL 47-42) – New Orleans battled Orlando all the way in a five-point loss that underscores the new energy the team is playing with. New Orleans will head to Florida to play Tampa Bay on Friday night.

11. Tampa Bay Storm (1-2) (LW: L vs. SJ 36-27) – Tampa Bay reverted back to their Week1 performance in a loss to San Jose. Just as they did in Week 1 against Cleveland, the Storm turned the ball over four times in the game. Tampa Bay will be home against New Orleans this week.

12. Los Angeles KISS (0-3) (LW: L vs. LV 61-48) – Los Angeles lost to first-year team Las Vegas at home to fall to 0-3. Los Angeles plays on the road this week against Orlando.

Week 4 Game of the Week: No.5 Cleveland vs. No. 2 Philadelphia

The team with the higher power ranking won five of six games in Week 3, 12 of 18 for the season.
