ORLANDO -- After weeks of speculation, the wait is over for fans of the Orlando Predators. According to WFTV in Orlando, David Siegel will be making an announcement on Tuesday that he has purchased the team.
Siegel has purchased the Predators from the Arena Football League, which assumed control of the club in May upon the departure of David Pearsall. He is a business mogul in Central Florida and is the founder and CEO of Westgate Resorts, one of the largest timeshare companies in the world.
ArenaFan first reported Siegel's purchase on July 3rd courtesy of a story in the Las Vegas Sun.
Sources have confirmed to ArenaFan.com that an announcement could also be made this afternoon regarding the future of the team and the Amway Center. Sources tell ArenaFan that a lease is in place to bring the Predators back to the Amway Center, where they played in each of the last three seasons before moving this year to CFE Arena.
The Predators will host the Iowa Barnstormers on Monday night at 8:00 p.m. in a crucial game with playoff implications in the American Conference.
