1. Arizona Rattlers (5-0) (LW: W vs. PITT 73-69) – Arizona remains in the top spot after defeating No. 4 Pittsburgh in a hard fought contest that saw the Rattlers remain undefeated after a four-point victory. After tough games against No. 5 San Jose and No.4 Pitt in back-to-back weeks, Arizona hosts a San Antonio club in Week 7 that was winless entering Week 6.

2. Cleveland Gladiators (5-0) (LW: W @ SPO 52-50) – Cleveland went on the road to play No. 3 Spokane and came away with a slim 2-point victory to keep the No. 2 ranking. After two straight road wins (and a 4-0 road mark this season) the Gladiators will be home this week to take on No.4 Pittsburgh. 

3. Pittsburgh Power (3-2) (LW: L @ AZ 73-69) – Pittsburgh came within four points of handing top ranked Arizona their first loss of the season (on the road at that) so, despite the loss, the Power move up a slot to No. 3 in the Week 7 rankings after holding No. 4 for two weeks. Pitt is tasked with playing No. 2 Cleveland on the road this week, so they will have to deliver another strong effort if they hope to stay in the game.  

4. Spokane Shock (3-2) (LW: L vs.CLV 52-50) – Spokane played well, but came up a couple of points short against Cleveland. Because No. 4 Pitt lost by just 4 points on the road to No.1 Arizona, the Shock fall a spot in this week’s PR.   

 
5. San Jose SaberCats (3-3) (LW: W @ PO 38-32) – San Jose got back in the win column with a six-point victory over winless Portland. The win snaps a three-game losing streak for the SaberCats and evens their season record at 3-3. Despite the less than impressive victory over a team still in search of their first win, the SaberCats remain No. 5 because both Los Angeles and Jacksonville lost. San Jose will travel to Los Angeles to play a KISS team that was held to just 12 points against Iowa last week.  

6. Philadelphia Soul (2-3) (LW: W vs. JAX 54-41) – After their second consecutive win, Philadelphia has pulled to within a win of a .500 mark after opening 0-3. Philly will be home against Iowa this week, and both teams are trying to convince fans they are contenders, not pretenders. Look for both clubs to be 3-3 after this one.    

7. Orlando Predators (4-2) (LW: W vs. TB 77-65) – Orlando makes the biggest jump in the rankings after downing Tampa Bay at home by 12 in Week 6.  The win improves the Predators home record to 3-1, and returns Orlando to the No. 7spot they held before a 13 point loss to the Soul last week dropped them to tenth. The Preds will be home against New Orleans this week. The VooDoo got pounded in front of the home fans by San Antonio, 68-33, last week.       

8. Jacksonville Sharks (2-3) (LW: L @ PHILLY 54-41) – Jacksonville continues to be inconsistent on the offensive side of the ball, but are home this week and have been blessed by the scheduling gods to be playing Portland, the only team in the AFL still without a win this season, so the Sharks should be able to get to .500 this week.   

9. Los Angeles KISS (2-3) (LW: L @ IA 31-12) - Los Angeles managed only 12 points in losing to Iowa on the road in Week 6. Many believe the KISS will not contend for a post season spot and if Los Angeles delivers a performance this week on the road against Philly like the one they did against the Barnstormers last week, they won’t.

10. Iowa Barnstormers (3-2) (LW: W vs. LA 31-12) – It’s hard to tell if Iowa played better in the win over the KISS  then they did in beating the Talons by a point a week earlier, or if Los Angeles was simply bad, but either way the Barnstormers find themselves at 3-2 heading to Week 7. Reality may set in this week when Iowa travels to Philadelphia to play a Soul team that is building momentum after losing their first three games.

11. Tampa Bay Storm (3-3) (LW: L @ ORL 77-65) – Tampa Bay dropped their second straight road game, losing to Orlando in Week 6 after falling to Jacksonville in Week 5, and are in need of a win this week when Spokane comes calling. The Storm has to play better than they have in the last few weeks to beat a good Spokane team.       

12. San Antonio Talons (1-5) (LW: W @ NO 68-31) – San Antonio followed up a solid effort  in a Week 5, one point loss to Iowa with a 37 point victory over New Orleans on the road in Week 6. The win is the first for the Talons this season. San Antonio goes on the road to play the Rattlers for Week 7, and while a W is not likely, the Talons need to deliver a strong effort to keep the momentum they have built over the last few weeks.

13. Portland Thunder (0-5) (LW: L vs. SJ 38-32) – Portland lost at home to San Jose to drop to 0-5, but gave a solid effort. The Thunder travel to the Sunshine State to play Jacksonville this week, and will be competitive against a slow starting, inconsistent Sharks squad.  

14. New Orleans VooDoo (1-4) (LW: L vs. SA 68-33) – After scoring 62 in front of the home fans to beat Orlando and pick up its first victory of the season in Week 4, New Orleans has scored just 47 points in back-to-back losses, while being outscored by 77 points. The VooDoo plays the Predators in Orlando this week, but don’t look for the same outcome as Week 4 produced.

The Power Rankings are determined by a formula that considers Total Wins, Division Wins, Road Wins, Home Losses, and results against common opponents.
