The Tampa Bay Storm have announced a press conference for Tuesday morning to announce the team's new leadership. The oldest Arena Football League franchise has been without any direct management since the ownership change and the resignation of former head coach and general manager Tim Marcum.
Sources with the team have stated that the purpose of the press conference is to announce the Storm's new president and vice president.
According to a Facebook post by radio station 620 WDAE's Steve "Big Dog" Duemig, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers standout linebacker Derrick Brooks will be named team president and a part owner. Duemig is the same person that broke the story of the end of Marcum's tenure with the Storm more than a day before the press conference was held.
Brooks played college football at Florida State University and helped lead that team to the 1993 National Championship. He played 14 seasons for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and went to 11 Pro Bowls. In 2002 he was named the Defensive Player of the Year, and returned an interception for a touchdownto help the Buccaneers win Super Bowl XXXVII.
ArenaFan will be attending the press conference and will file a report.
