What a difference seven weeks make

The rematch is set. Two of the top teams in the af2 are about to do battle.
It’s a perfect set for a playoff preview. For the third-ranked Arkansas Twisters, it’s an opportunity few teams ever get.
Just seven weeks ago, the young, upstart Twister football team was dominated in the Albnay Civic Center by an experienced, confident South Georgia Wildcat squad, 47-31. Two months and 3 wins later, South Georgia brings those memories and a revamped secondary into the rematch, slated for 3:00 p.m. Sunday in Little Rock Arkansas, with the Twisters.
Arkansas Twisters quarterback Brian Villanueva, who started against the Wildcats in week one, will be out at least six weeks after suffering a broken foot in the win against Bossier-Shreveport. Backup Davon (Day-vaughn) Vinson will get his first career start against South Georgia.
Reggie Swinton is the only player in Arkansas’ history to have his jersey number retired. He will take the spot of injured receiver Errick McCown who is out after suffering a turf toe injury against Bossier-Shreveport.
“They’re (Arkansas) obviously a different football team,” South Georgia Assistant Head Coach Randy Leindecker said. “We beat them the first week but they have won every game since then.”
Now South Georgia has added DB’s Matt Jackson and Cory Bailey. Both have AFL experience and were difference makers in the win last week against a very good Florida Firecats team.
Bryant continues to impress as teams are throwing everything they have, including the kitchen sink, to stop this high powered offense.
