Sippio, Angel, Haglund receive ArenaFan.com Week Five honors

For their performances during the fifth week of the Arena Football League 2007 season, Bobby Sippio (WR, Chicago Rush),  Chris Angel (DB, Colorado Crush), and A.J. Haglund (K, San Jose SaberCats) have been named Offensive Player of the Week, Defensive Player of the Week, and  Two-Way Player of the Week, respectively, by the writers and staff of ArenaFan.com.

Offensive Player of the Week:
Bobby Sippio scored five touchdowns on 14 receptions for 224 yards to help the Chicago Rush defeat the Los Angeles Avengers 66-31. He also added five rushing yards on two carries. This is Sippio's second Offensive Player of the Week award from ArenaFan.com in 2007.

Other players considered for the ArenaFan.com Week Five Offensive Player of the Week were Clint Dolezel (Dallas Desperados), and Matt Nagy (Columbus Destroyers).

Defensive Player of the Week: Chris Angel had two interceptions for 45 yards, one breakup and five tackles in the Colorado Crush 45-38 victory over the Nashville Kats. His second interceptions occurred with 22 seconds remaining in a tie game, returning the ball to the Kats one yard line allowing the Crush to take the lead. Angel is in his fourth season in the AFL, having previously played for the Nashville Kats, New York Dragons and Columbus Destroyers.

Other players considered for the ArenaFan.com Week Five Defensive Player of the Week were Jerald Brown (Columbus Destroyers), Roc Haith (New Orleans VooDoo), Eddie Moten (Philadelphia Soul), and Denario Smalls (Kansas City Brigade).

2-Way Player of the Week: A.J. Haglund scored a touchdown on a four-yard fumble recovery following a first quarter kickoff to help the San Jose SaberCats defeat the Tampa Bay Storm 69-49. Haglund also was 9 of 10 on PATs, for a total of 16 points scored. Haglund became only the second kicker to score a touchdown in the AFL this decade. He is a rookie with the SaberCats this season.

Other players considered for the ArenaFan.com Week Five 2-Way Player of the Week were Will Pettis (Dallas Desperados), Sean Scott (Philadelphia Soul), and Robert Thomas (Colorado Crush).
