A Look at the Expansion Draft Players
Dave Carlson

Quarterbacks:
ArenaFan`s Pick of the Position: Corey Pullig (GR): A solid player in 1998 for the Rampage, but got overtaken for the job by Kusick in 1999. Would be a good pickup for a new team to battle in camp with their current QBs.
Jay McDonough (Buf): A good prospect for a team. Could be one of the leagues top QB`s in 2-3 years if given the chance to play and grow in a system.
Jeff Loots (Alb): Has been a very capable backup around the league. Supposedly is getting a hard look by the Minnesota Vikings now though, which might cast doubts on his availibility.
Wide Receivers & Specialists:
ArenaFan`s Pick of the Position: Jack Jackson (Orl): Jackson was an outstanding rookie in 1999, and is coming into his own in the league. He topped off a 10 touchdown regular season with 3 catches for 3 TDs and 106 yards in the Arenabowl. Does have some trouble with kickoffs off the net though, but will be a star wherever he ends up.
Cleveland Pratt (Fla): Great OS when he`s not hurt. Unfortunately, thats not very often in the past three years. If he can get healthy, he`s a good start to a new receiving corps.
Khevin Pratt (OKC): Pratt finally had a season in 1999 that was as good as his rookie year in 1994. Pratt`s route skills are questionable, but when he gets the ball he can fly. Pratt can be a bit of a prima donna though if he isn`t the main target, but if a team is willing to make him their number one receiver, he can fit the bill.
Eddie Goines (Arz): Goines was a very highly touted prospect for the Rattlers, but injuries curtailed what could have been a great 1999 season. If he can stay off the injury bug, has a very bright career.
Cedric Walker (Arz): A big time hitter at DS, best year was in 1997 with 78 tackles, 30 assists, and 16 passes defensed.
Andrew `Jai` Hill (Arz): A five-year veteran who missed all of 1998, and didn`t see much action in 1999. If he could return to half of his mid-90`s form, he`d be a good backup WR/DB.

Fullbacks:
ArenaFan`s Pick of the Position: Leroy Thompson (Alb): A terror at the linebacker slot, he finished 1999 8th in the league in rushing yardage.
Michael `Bo` Kelly (Arz): Big bruising back. Hasn`t put up spectacular rushing numbers since his 1996 rookie season, but would probably help any team fill their running back needs.

Kickers:
ArenaFan`s Pick of the Position: Remy Hamilton (GR): Was the starting kicker all year for the Rampage. A decent leg, missed more extra points than he should have, but you could do much worse in the AFL in kickers than Hamilton.
John Phair (Alb): He`s got a rocket for a leg, but his accuracy is lacking. However, Phair would be good for kicking into (or even over) the nets consistantly on kickoffs.
